Happy New Year (for 3rd time this year)!

Here are pictures of people "making merit" at the Club House in my Moo Baan.

People start gathering outside the "Club House" in my Moo Baan around 6:30 a.m. waiting for the Monk's arrival.



The "Monk" parade begins as they collect "merit" from Thai Buddhist.







No, not trash truck but needed to carry away all the "goodies" the Monks collect. They receive everything from food, water & juice, to personal items like soap, toothpaste and toothbrush (no combs needed - LoL ).......




Filing into the Club House for special offering & merit. All monks have to be barefoot when receiving "merit"!

Ken & Charlie Explore Northern Thailand!!

We left Chiang Mai and headed for Mae Hong Son a fairly large town in N.W. Thailand. We had to head S.W. in order to get N.W. as we had to go around and through a large mountain range. Doi Inthanon is over 8,500 ft. high. Here are pics of views along the way. Shots of the hotel we stayed in in Mae Hong Son and the park area. The "Hot Springs" in the area are too hot for soaking in. some are all most 195*. The signs around the springs were interesting and I still have not figured out what some of them mean??? Sites around the area - Sleeping Buddha and cave with stream and fish living inside. Our next stop was the "backpacking village of Pai, which is pronounced Bye!! Lots of neat shops and restaurants to explore. We stayed at the "Quarter" a small botique hotel. From here we visited the waterfalls and temples in the area. Well, here is my new home! Keep checking back as will be adding info and pics as it gets closer to moving time. Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) is the hub of Northern Thailand .                              Udon Thani                           388 miles Chiang Mai to Udon                               March 16 - 19 2018, flew to Udon Thani - flight time a little over an hour....   Udon is home to one of the world’s earliest bronze-age civilizations, at Ban Chiang. Archaeological evidence – earthenware pottery and bronze fragments – unearthed here suggest that the prehistoric settlements existed between 2100BC and 200AD.
