"SOMETHING FISHY"

Something fishy - My 1st Thai business venture or should I say, "ADVENTURE"? We left Chiang Mai early Friday morning and headed for Chiang Rai (3 hours). First stop was the outdoor market in Chiang Mai. Lots of "everything" at great prices - seafood of all description, chicken, pork, and lots of fruit some of which I have NO idea what they are!! First pic is of tables full of cut up chicken. hope the health inspector doesn't come around! The red fuzzy fruit stacked up is a Rambutan! Lychee Fruit is in season and they are great just off the tree... The market is huge with lots of Sois (side streets) to explore... On the way to Chiang Rai we stopped and bought mushrooms from an old lady from the local "Hill Tribes". 75 Baht or $2.20 we bought 8 plates of her mushrooms. Lots of mushrooms used in Thai cooking. NOW for my new venture - a "fish farm " raising Nile Tilapia! Nothing to it - a piece of cake or should I say "fishcake??". We b

"T.I.T." This is THAILAND!

Thought I'd start a post with odds & ends of "tings" that are "THAI". Rice Paddies by my house: Getting ready to plant in January And now the end of April ready to harvest! A 6 story waterfall inside of mall in Bangkok! "Golden Shower" Trees now in bloom! Trip to Butterfly and Orchid Farm Flowers on way to restaurant - Aod's school friends and yes it is 94* out and "Boy" is wearing a jacket. "T.I.T." Thai cat sleeping on Temple steps (Have to keep those cat pics coming for Karen & Erica....... Visakha Bucha Day - Taxi Trucks lined up waiting to take people down Doi Suthep after an all night walk up the mountain. The path winds upwards through the forest for 9 kilometers, and the procession arrives at the temple at around 3 a.m., waiting there until daylight to begin their devotions and make merit by paying homage to the Lord Buddha’s relics housed in the ancient sanctuaries. As dawn breaks, worshippers will make offering
