WAT PHRATHAT DOI KHAM

Wat Phrathat Doi Kham

Wat Phrathat Doi Kham is situated on a small mountain-top, southwest of Chiang Mai - about 10 kilometres from the city and just 12 minutes from my house. It's surrounded by green jungle. Phrathat Doi Khum is an ancient and important place of worship and was founded more than 1,300 years ago.

At the base of the mountain you have a choice of driving or walking up to the Wat. A long winding path ends at steps leading up to the temple.

The Buddha watches over all!! No matter where you are in the Temple the Buddha is watching you! The temple cat keeps an "eye" on you too......

School kids on a field trip take turns playing the """"GONGGGG"""".

Prayer "slot machines"? Insert a few Baht and hear a Buddhist Chant.

The Old & the New - look for the helicopter just to the right of Buddha's head!

Scenes from the Temple:

Well, only 281 more Temples to visit and that is just in Chiang Mai! Next week I will pay a visit to Wat Chiang Man. Oldest Wat in the old city.

Sawatdee Krup!
