5 December 2009 - King's Birthday! I decided to go to the Royal Flora to check out the happenings on the King's B'day. This attraction is only 10 minutes from my house and yet I had never been there! Who knew such a great park was so close? I arrived at 10 a.m. and walked for 5 hours and still did not see everything. Thousands of people there as special shows and entertainment in honor of the King. It can not be emphasised enough that the Thai people REALLY LOVE THEIR KING! He is held in awe and treated much like the Pope,,,,, Very impressive entrance to the park: Flowers and shrubs are really impressive. Thai parks are kept immaculate. Thai style houses - Kids (well, everyone is a kid in Thailand) & Veggies Nice to be the KING and have your own Wat! Even the Monks came out to celebrate!
