4th of July!!

The American Consulate held a 4th of July Celebration at one of the big stadiums in the city. What more could you want - hot dogs, cold beer, corn on the cob, a live band plus a "country and western" band and fire works at 8 p.m.! There were around 600 people there. I was hoping for more pictures, but had camera problems..... HAPPY 4TH OF JULY!

Ken & Charlie Explore Northern Thailand!!

We left Chiang Mai and headed for Mae Hong Son a fairly large town in N.W. Thailand. We had to head S.W. in order to get N.W. as we had to go around and through a large mountain range. Doi Inthanon is over 8,500 ft. high. Here are pics of views along the way. Shots of the hotel we stayed in in Mae Hong Son and the park area. The "Hot Springs" in the area are too hot for soaking in. some are all most 195*. The signs around the springs were interesting and I still have not figured out what some of them mean??? Sites around the area - Sleeping Buddha and cave with stream and fish living inside. Our next stop was the "backpacking village of Pai, which is pronounced Bye!! Lots of neat shops and restaurants to explore. We stayed at the "Quarter" a small botique hotel. From here we visited the waterfalls and temples in the area. Singapore - 2019

                                          Off To Singapore - 2019 Singapore a 3 hour flight direct from Chiang Mai. It is the cleanest most modern city I have ever seen.  Oh yes, also the most expensive city in the world! Singapore marks its sixth straight year at the top of the rankings, and is joined there by Hong Kong and Paris. A beer can cost as much as $18 (glad I don't drink beer) mixed drink can be $25.00. Chaiang Mai Pics

Well, here is my new home! Keep checking back as will be adding info and pics as it gets closer to moving time. Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) is the hub of Northern Thailand . With a population of over 170,000, it is Thailand's fifth-largest city.
