Thailand - My Chiang Mai Life

A 3 hour drive north of Chiang Mai is the city of Chiang Rai.(top of map) The city was founded by King  Mangrai  in 1262 and became the capital of the Mangrai dynasty.  Chiang Rai was conquered by  Burma  and remained under Burmese rule for several hundred years. From Chiang Rai it is easy to visit  Doi Tung  , Doi means mountain, and is home of  Doi Tung coffee plantations, Mae Sai on the Burma border, and the Golden Triangle.                         First stop was Doi Tung and the King's mother's Royal Villa Royal Villa Doi Tung Coffee                                          Flower gardens at Royal Villa                             ...

5 days in Hong Kong!   Did not pick the best 5 days weather wise, as overcast, light rain and very cool temperatures.....  But with umbrellas, the subway, and periods with out the showers we were able to enjoy H.K.   Hong Kong Disneyland!!   You mean I have to eat all of this?                                    Street food!   How about some deep fried pig intestines???                                        Chinese Beer and scallops with stir fried broccoli...............  STREET SCENES                                                 ...
