5 days in Hong Kong! 

 Did not pick the best 5 days weather wise, as overcast, light rain and very cool temperatures.....  But with umbrellas, the subway, and periods with out the showers we were able to enjoy H.K.  

Hong Kong Disneyland!!

CABLE CAR RIDE TO WORLD'S TALLEST SITTING BUDDHA -- IN THE FOG AND RAIN!!!!

Located in the Lantau Island in Hong Kong, the Tiang Tan Buddha statue is the tallest sitting Buddha in the world. Perched atop 482 metres on a hill, the 34 metre high Buddha statue is made of bronze and weighs 250 tonnes. It can be accessed by a 5.7 km long cable car from Tung Chung MTR station to Ngong Ping village or on foot from where you have to climb 268 steps to reach the top.

Well, here is my new home! Keep checking back as will be adding info and pics as it gets closer to moving time. Chiang Mai (เชียงใหม่) is the hub of Northern Thailand . Ken & Charlie Explore Northern Thailand!!

We left Chiang Mai and headed for Mae Hong Son a fairly large town in N.W. Thailand. We had to head S.W. in order to get N.W. as we had to go around and through a large mountain range. Doi Inthanon is over 8,500 ft. high. Here are pics of views along the way. Shots of the hotel we stayed in in Mae Hong Son and the park area. The "Hot Springs" in the area are too hot for soaking in. some are all most 195*. The signs around the springs were interesting and I still have not figured out what some of them mean??? Sites around the area - Sleeping Buddha and cave with stream and fish living inside. Our next stop was the "backpacking village of Pai, which is pronounced Bye!! Lots of neat shops and restaurants to explore. We stayed at the "Quarter" a small botique hotel. From here we visited the waterfalls and temples in the area. Udon Thani, Thailand

                             Udon Thani                           388 miles Chiang Mai to Udon                               March 16 - 19 2018, flew to Udon Thani - flight time a little over an hour....   Udon is home to one of the world’s earliest bronze-age civilizations, at Ban Chiang. Archaeological evidence – earthenware pottery and bronze fragments – unearthed here suggest that the prehistoric settlements existed between 2100BC and 200AD. Other ancient structures and artifacts are also found inside Phu Phra Baht Historical Park. Here, rising amidst a vast sandstone mountain are peculiar rock formations, as well as dinosaur foot prints, cave paintings and Buddhist structures.
